Paper presentation on “The HRDC Graduate Training for Employment Scheme: A Skills Intermediation Instrument” at UoM Research & Innovation Week 2023

The Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) participated in the UoM Research and Innovation Week 2023, an event organised by the University of Mauritius (UoM) under the theme "Promoting Interdisciplinary Research and Innovation for Sustainability and Resilience." The week-long event took place from 27 November to 01 December 2023. Notably, this year, UoM integrated both the Research and Innovation components into a single event.

During the event, the HRDC delivered a presentation titled “The HRDC Graduate Training for Employment Scheme: A Skills Intermediation Instrument.”  The GTES was selected to be presented as highly illustrative case study for skills intermediation in the local skills development space deploying a capabilities approach to skills intermediation. The HRDC has noted its short-term, medium-term and long-term, both tangible and intangible, benefits of the scheme underpinned by its skills intermediation nature.

The presentation identified contemporary roles of skills intermediaries (such as HRDC) and explored the mechanisms the HRDC is using to generate value for enterprises, unemployed graduates and ultimately the society.
