Capacity development programme to support Medical Device Industry
The Mauritius Export Association (MEXA) in collaboration with the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) has launched a skills development programme for capacity building in “industrial design, wiring techniques and machine safety” to support the medical device industry. This training programme is implemented under the Sectoral Skills Development Scheme (SSDS).
The main objectives of the training are to:
- upgrade the skills of existing employees in the medical devices industry to keep in line with new trends and regulatory requirements;
- enable existing employees to be appraised of the different medical terminologies, standards and technicalities involved; and
- help the employees grow within the organisation and promote a career path in the medical devices sector.
The training programme will be for a duration of 90 hours and will be delivered by the Université des Mascareignes (UdM).
