Refund of training cost to employers for courses/training dispensed by foreign institutions under the Training Grant System
Following amendment brought to the Mauritius Qualifications Authority Act, as from 15 October 2021, the MQA is no longer approving non-award courses/training dispensed by foreign training institutions. In this context, the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) wishes to inform all its stakeholders who contribute the Training Levy that they can claim refund under the Training Grant System for courses/training/conferences/workshops attended abroad and courses/training/international conferences/workshops attended by their employees locally via the online mode and structured online courses dispensed by foreign institutions.
To obtain a refund, the employer must submit the following documents together with their claim:
(i) Certificate of attendance for the participant
(ii) Invoice/quotation and receipt for training fee paid
(iii) Bank document evidencing payment of fee
The following modes of training dispensed by foreign institutions are eligible for refund by the HRDC:
