Skills Studies 2017: Presentation of findings on skills needs for the ICT sector

The HRDC regularly conducts surveys on skills needs and skills trends at national and sectoral levels. One such study is the Skills Studies 2017. The objectives of this study are to find out the current patterns of skills in the ICT sector, and to assess the skills needs in the short, medium and longer term. The presentation of findings on the ICT sector will be launched by The Honourable (Mrs) Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun, Minister of Education and Human Resources, Tertiary Education and Scientific Research as follows:

The Skills Studies 2017 will be an important tool which could be used by policy makers, private and public training institutions, employers and other interested parties as it would:
•provide an overview of the skills status in the ICT sector;
•inform training providers in mounting training courses as per the requirement of the ICT sector and the whole economy;
•help policy makers and relevant institutions to devise measures to boost skills levels in the country; and
•identify gaps in terms of skills requirements in the ICT sector.
