The Human Resource Development Council (HRDC), a recently set up institution as per the HRD Act of 2003, became operational in November 2003. The setting up of the HRDC was inspired by the recommendations of the report of the ILO Consultant on the National Integrated Training Strategy whereby the need for an apex body which will guide and provide the necessary thrust for Human Resource Development for Mauritius was felt.
